Hello, All,
As a writer and poet, I've been thinking about the writings that will be posted here. I personally have enough woundedness, and a big enough ego, to need to know someone read what I wrote - and to know what they thought. I have also had a hard time coming up with a meaningful comment. I don't want to insult anyone by saying, "I liked your little poem" or "That was nice". And I'm often afraid what I see won't be what the author wanted me to see. Or I don't feel I have any kind of insight that will be meaningful to others. I also know, from painful personal experience, that it can really hurt when we timidly put our works out there for the world to see - and the world has no reaction. So, what do I do? . . . . . . . . . . . . Um-mmmm . . . . . . .
Here's an idea! How about if those of us in that boat try to give three or four single words, or simple phrases, that describe our feelings or thoughts about the poem. Even a line such as, "I liked it!" can really make an author's day. I know.
Let's try it. Shall we?
